Summary: “Still reeling from the loss of her mother, medical student Nancy Adams (Blake Lively) travels to a secluded beach for some much-needed solace. Despite the danger of surfing alone, Nancy decides to soak up the sun and hit the waves. Suddenly, a great white shark attacks, forcing her to swim to a giant rock for safety. Left injured and stranded 200 yards from shore, the frightened young woman must fight for her life as the deadly predator circles her in its feeding ground.”

If you’re like me and think, how could a movie about a girl stuck in the ocean with a shark make an entire movie?  I’m here to tell you to give it a chance!

The Shallows is the most stressful movie I have seen in a long time.  It had the whole tension thing down to a T, it was great.  Don’t watch this with someone who yells at the screen, because they are going to be doing it a lot and I know how annoying that can get.

While it is still a movie that is 90% Blake Lively acting on her own, I didn’t find it boring or dragging on for too long.  That had been the reason I didn’t rush to see it in theatres.

The CGI for the shark, honestly, wasn’t the greatest at all times. Plus the fact that the shark hung around and did what it did for so long seemed a little ridiculous.

Other than that, it was an enjoyable movie you should be watching if you’re in the mood for something that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
