Where was the hype for this movie?!
I remember seeing the preview for this in the beginning of another movie and then never really heard much after that. So I went to see it anyway, and I’m so glad I did!
I love when movies surprise me like this one did. Not expecting much, I thought it was just going to be your typical alien movie where aliens come, the planet attacks back, and it’s just all one big mess. Instead, Arrival focuses on Louise, an expert in linguistics as she tries to find a way to communicate with these aliens that appeared out of nowhere.
You get to see how her life is changed by this event in a unique way. Along with how different countries react to the arrival. Makes you think what would actually happen if aliens showed up one day.
Once I got to the plot twist, I loved it. It brings the entire movie together so satisfyingly and gives it more meaning than your typical alien sci-fi.
Go see it!
